Are You Sure Unicorns Don't Exist?
According to 6 year-old ‘wish kid’ Addison, unicorns exist,
and they live in the magical forests of Hawaii. Not only do they exist, but
Addison also recently got the chance to live out her own fairy tale and meet
one of these magical creatures.
Having battled leukemia for over two and a half years,
Addison has fought long and hard against her disease for nearly half of her
life. Her mother said that it has been extremely difficult to watch her
daughter undergo so much chemotherapy. However, she also noted that Addison’s
cheery attitude shined brightly in even the most challenging days: “Even when
she was in the throes of the heaviest doses of chemo, when there were days when
she couldn’t even walk because she was so weak and her blood counts were so
low, she still had a smile on her face.”
Members of Diamond Head Theater teamed up with playwright
Alvin Chan to create and produce a magical adventure on which Addison could embark. As part of this magical experience, ‘Princess
Addison’ had to find the prettiest flow and prettiest fruit in the enchanted
forest then sing “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” Check out more about Addison's incredible story here.
After completing these tasks, Addison found a pink unicorn.
When asked about her day in the enchanted forests of Hawaii,
Addison replied, “I got to sit on the unicorn at
the end, and it was happily ever after.”
