Splashing with the Dolphins

Philip Ryan, who is 12 years old and has a very rare form of muscular dystrophy, recently was granted his wish to swim with dolphins.

Philip was diagnosed with muscle eye brain disease when he was only three weeks old. He has been fighting diligently against this disease all of his life. Philip and his father traveled to Florida as a part of the Make-A-Wish wish-granting process. While in Florida, Philip underwent dolphin therapy for an entire week.

Philip knew immediately that swimming with dolphins was his ultimate wish. He immediately responded to Make-A-Wish’s question with the clicking noises that dolphins make. His father feels that the trip was restorative and helpful for Philip beyond comprehension.
